About us
 Procryotect was founded in early 2007 as an ETH Spinoff Company with the aim to produce and distribute the patented new freezing medium FILOCETHPLUS which was developed as a consequence of a research program initiated and sponsored by FFVFF, Ligue Suisse contre la Vivisection, Doerenkamp-Zbinden Foundation and the Zürcher Tierschutz, performed at the Antibody Service Facility of the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. The program followed the aim to replace the commonly used Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) in cell culture media.
The improved FILOCETHPLUS performs better than any existing Cryomedium. It exhibits about 50% higher Cell recovery after Cell storage in liquid nitrogen.
The fact that FILOCETHPLUS is chemically fully defined and animal component free sets a new standard in Cryopreservation of Mammalian Cells.
